Meet the folks who desperately need your financial sacrifice this year:
James has been a dear friend of Urban Purpose for years, and we have seen him show great perseverance in overcoming very difficult struggles. Recently, he was living in a local park, but God has done incredible healing work in his body and spirit. In October, we welcomed him into our BuildUP Men’s Transitional Home. With a stable place to call home and a new job, he began saving for his own place. We are so excited to see how God continues to work in James’ life and give him hope and purpose day after day.
“Urban Purpose has helped me make big changes recently. I now have a job and place to sleep. I am so thankful for Urban Purpose. It is really God that made all these changes in my life, though.”
Debra, a mom of three, lives on the streets and struggles with addiction. After spending time at our Compound day shelter, she’s realized recovery and new life are possible! She is determined to enter a recovery program and, until that day comes, Urban Purpose is there to provide the routine, stability, and encouragement she needs. We are filled with hope for this fun-loving and kind member of our Compound family.
“Morgan serves us from her heart. The Compound serves great food and is helping me find treatment right now. A lot of other places won’t help you find treatment.”
Martin came to us exhausted by months of couch . But after moving into our BuildUP Men’s Transitional Home, he went from desperate for a safe place to sleep to having a true home. Martin is now finally able to focus on his job and family.
“Urban Purpose helped me to get my feet on the ground when no one else would. They’ve given me a new lease on life to grow and become a more responsible member of society. I thank Jim and Morgan for taking the time to hear my story and work with me to help build a brighter future for my life.”
“THE KING WILL REPLY, ‘TRULY I TELL YOU, WHATEVER YOU DID FOR ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF MINE, YOU DID FOR ME.’” -MATTHEW 25:40
