Join us for a night to remember as we enjoy Bob Sykes Bar-B-Q at a record-breaking dinner table!
We need everyone in the community to come out and support A Seat at the Table on Monday, October 7th at Railroad Park because we're going to set the record for "Birmingham's Biggest Dinner Table! Your ticket gets you delicious Bob Sykes Bar-B-Q, live music, and fun for the whole family! You can also cover the cost of additional meals for our unhoused brothers and sisters, who will also join us for the meal and entertainment.
At Urban Purpose, we seek to empower Birmingham's homeless and hurting population by building relationships, meeting needs in crisis, and rebuilding lives.
You'll find our day shelter, the Compound, nestled in the heart of downtown Birmingham. It's a home for the homeless to grab a hot shower, do their laundry, watch TV, or play a board game. We also provide our unhoused neighbors with a shelf-stable food pantry, a clothing closet, and hygiene kits, in addition to periodic special events like live music and wellness checks.
We meet people where they are without expecting anything in return.
Simple, dignified solutions open the door to meaningful relationships and a willingness to explore long-term solutions like addiction recovery programs, our transitional house for men, employment programs, and other opportunities that help our clients achieve their goals for a full life.
We believe that all people are created in the image of God, and for that reason, everyone deserves a Seat at the Table.
